The Chardham Yatra is one of the most sacred Hindu pilgrimage journeys, covering the four holy shrines of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, located in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand.
This spiritually enriching journey offers devotees the opportunity to seek divine blessings while experiencing the breathtaking beauty of the Himalayas. The traditional route begins with Yamunotri, followed by Gangotri, Kedarnath, and concludes at Badrinath.
The Chardham Yatra usually opens from end of April or early May and remains accessible till October or mid-November, depending on weather conditions.

Day 1: Arrival at Haridwar
Arrive at Haridwar Railway Station and transfer to the hotel.
Overnight stay at Haridwar.
Day 2: Haridwar – Barkot
Distance: 210 km | Duration: Approx. 7–8 hrs
After breakfast, drive to Barkot via Mussoorie. En route visit Kempty Falls and Mussoorie Mall Road. Continue journey to Barkot.
Overnight stay at Barkot.
Day 3: Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot
36 km drive + 6 km trek (one way)
Early morning, drive to Janki Chatti / Phool Chatti. Begin the trek to Yamunotri Temple (by foot, pony, or doli at own cost). Take a holy dip in Surya Kund, perform darshan at Yamunotri Temple, and return to Barkot.
Overnight stay at Barkot.
Day 4: Barkot – Uttarkashi
Distance: 100 km | Duration: Approx. 4 hrs
After breakfast, drive to Uttarkashi. On arrival, check in to the hotel. Visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple in the evening.
Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.
Day 5: Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi
Distance: 100 km (one way)
Early morning, drive to Gangotri via Gangnani and Harsil Valley. Take a holy dip in the sacred River Ganga (Bhagirathi) and perform pooja and darshan at Gangotri Temple. Return to Uttarkashi.
Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.
Day 6: Uttarkashi – Guptakashi
Distance: 220 km | Duration: Approx. 8 hrs
After breakfast, drive to Guptakashi. En route enjoy views of the Mandakini River at Tilwara. Visit Ardh Narishwar Temple on arrival.
Overnight stay at Guptakashi.
Day 7: Guptakashi – Kedarnath
30 km drive + 19 km trek (one way)
Early morning, drive to Gaurikund and begin the trek to Kedarnath Temple. On arrival, check in to hotel/tent accommodation.
Overnight stay at Kedarnath.
Day 8: Kedarnath – Guptakashi
19 km trek + 30 km drive
After morning darshan and breakfast, trek down to Gaurikund and drive back to Guptakashi.
Overnight stay at Guptakashi.
Day 9: Guptakashi – Badrinath
Distance: 160 km | Duration: Approx. 8 hrs
After breakfast, drive to Badrinath. On arrival, take a holy bath in Tapt Kund and perform darshan at Badrinath Temple. Visit Brahma Kapal, Mana Village, Vyas Gufa, Charan Paduka, and Bhimkund.
Overnight stay at Badrinath.
Day 10: Badrinath – Joshimath – Rudraprayag
Distance: 160 km | Duration: Approx. 8 hrs
After breakfast, drive to Rudraprayag via Joshimath. Visit Narsingh Temple en route. Rudraprayag is the confluence of Alaknanda and Mandakini Rivers.
Overnight stay at Rudraprayag.
Day 11: Rudraprayag – Haridwar (via Rishikesh)
Distance: 150 km | Duration: Approx. 7 hrs
After breakfast, drive to Haridwar via Rishikesh. Visit Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, and temples in Rishikesh. Drop at Haridwar Railway Station for onward journey.
